THE WORK
Hawaii Torch Ginger is Erin Sabado’s watercolor of Alpinia, the red ginger you see in Maui gardens and hotel courtyards. Color first, then the leaf. He paints it the old way, the way his father taught him.
The piece is vertical. It belongs in a living room, an entry, or a guest room that can take a strong red. The same plant shows up in the family galleries in Wailea and Kāʻanapali.
Open edition print, or the original watercolor. By Erin Sabado | Open Edition.
