A collective should amplify an artist's voice, not replace it.
What MFAC is
Maui Fine Art Collective is an artist-led collective connecting collectors, designers and hospitality clients with artists living and working on Maui.
MFAC provides a shared professional presentation, but the artist remains primary.
The objective is not to make every member look or sound alike.
It is to present each practice clearly enough that the difference becomes obvious.
What MFAC is not
MFAC is not an open marketplace.
It is not a pay-to-upload directory.
It is not a requirement that artists abandon existing galleries or relationships.
It is not a promise that every artwork an artist has ever made belongs on the site.
And it is not a system that rewrites artists into one corporate voice.
What we look for
A distinctive point of view.
A body of work that feels intentional.
Technical and material competence.
A meaningful relationship to Maui.
Professional communication.
Integrity around editioning, pricing, attribution and representation.
An interest in allowing collectors to understand the person and process behind the work.
And, most importantly: work that adds something to the Collective that is not already there.
What membership can include
An artist page. Selected artwork presentation. Editorial polish while preserving artist voice. Artwork and process storytelling. Collector introductions. Art advisory referrals. Commission inquiries. Trade and hospitality opportunities. Editorial features. On-Maui viewing opportunities where appropriate. Shared digital reach. Professional visual presentation.
This is not a promise of sales.
The process
01 INTRODUCTION
We begin with the artist, not an application score.
02 INTERVIEW
MFAC learns the practice, history, voice, strongest work and future direction.
03 SELECTION
Together we identify which works belong in the Collective.
04 PRESENTATION
Biography, photography and artwork information are prepared to MFAC standards.
05 ONBOARDING
The artist page and selected work are published only when the complete experience is ready.
Introduce Your Practice
If you live and work on Maui and your practice aligns with the criteria above, send a brief introduction.
Include your name, where you live and work, primary medium, a short biography, a link to five to ten works and what you would most want a collector to understand about your practice.
MFAC reviews artists periodically and publishes a new member only when the artist page, selected work and supporting material are complete.
Submission does not guarantee membership or a particular response timeline.
