Art Advisory

Tell us what draws you in.

You do not need to know an artist's name, a medium or even exactly what you are looking for.

Tell us what brought you here.

A wall.
A room.
A place on Maui.
A work you cannot stop thinking about.
A commission you have imagined but do not know how to begin.

MFAC can help you narrow the possibilities and connect directly with the right work and artist.

You do not need to know exactly what you want before you begin.

Private collectors

Collecting can begin with expertise. It can also begin with a simple reaction:

"I keep coming back to this."

MFAC works comfortably with both.

Whether this is your first acquisition or the next piece in a collection built over decades, the conversation begins in the same place:

What moves you?

WORKS AT SCALE

Begin with the wall.

Considering a Work at Scale starts with a conversation rather than a checkout.

Tell us which work has stayed with you and where you imagine living with it.

Lance and MFAC can help study proportion, viewing distance, presentation, delivery and installation before a final physical dimension is established.

WALL + SCALE STUDY

Tell us about the wall.

After you submit, MFAC will personally request wall photographs, elevations or plans as needed.

SITE-SPECIFIC COMMISSION

When an existing photograph is not the right answer, the process can begin with the architecture itself.

Discuss a new work conceived for your space.

Room photographs and plans you share are used only to prepare the requested Wall + Scale Study. MFAC does not publish or use submitted room photographs for marketing without separate permission. See our Privacy policy.

Design & Trade

Good art sourcing should make a project more specific, not create another layer of friction.

Artwork sourcing
Focused project selections
Dimensions + specifications
Placement studies
Presentation + framing
Artist commissions
Custom sizing where appropriate
Delivery + installation coordination

Hospitality & Commercial

The strongest Maui projects begin with work that has a genuine relationship to the place and the people making it.

MFAC works with hospitality, private-club, development, healthcare and commercial teams to source existing work and coordinate artist commissions across the Collective.

Commissions

A commission should begin with the artist, not a configurator.

Tell MFAC what you are considering.

We will help determine which artist's practice naturally fits the idea, whether that artist is accepting commissioned work, and what a responsible creative process looks like from there.

01 Conversation
What are you trying to create, remember or solve?

02 Artist Fit
MFAC identifies an artist whose practice genuinely belongs in the conversation.

03 Direction
Scale, material, subject and expectations are clarified with the artist.

04 Creation
The artist makes the work according to the agreed process.

05 Arrival
Presentation, delivery and installation are coordinated as appropriate.

Every artist works differently. MFAC will never promise a process on an artist's behalf that the artist does not use.

Begin the Conversation

Name the work, the wall, the room, the place or the idea.

You do not need to know exactly what you want.

Begin a Conversation

See it before it arrives.

Eligible works can be previewed through augmented reality on compatible devices.

Or send MFAC a straight-on photograph of the wall and approximate dimensions. We can prepare a complimentary proportional visualization to help compare scale and placement.
