Sunset Reverie was photographed on Hole 17 of Kapalua’s Bay Course as evening light moved through the clouds. The green and flag create a precise foreground reference; behind them, the Pacific expands the field dramatically before Molokaʻi establishes a far more distant horizon. The composition lets the eye travel from a human-scale course detail across miles of open water toward another island.
Lance Ehrecke’s Kapalua photographs use the golf course as one layer inside a larger West Maui environment rather than as an isolated sporting subject. In this work, the maintained surface of the green, changing cloud light, ocean and distant island occupy different depth zones that remain distinct when the photograph is enlarged. The source file preserves enough information for the course to stay specific while water, weather and Molokaʻi retain their own texture and tonal variation.
Sunset Reverie is offered as an open edition photographic artwork and produced to order. Current presentation choices include Acrylic, Aluminum and Canvas, with size and framing options shown in the configurator. The presentation guide can help compare surface, edge and reflectivity before collecting the work. The result is equally legible as golf photography and as a broader West Maui landscape.
