We love to venture off the beaten path as well! Let's create something truly inspiring together.
Olowalu Vibes begins above Olowalu Landing on Maui's west side, from a vantage where landscapes usually experienced separately can be held inside one field.
Offshore, reef and shallow water divide into changing shapes and colors.
Closer to land, the coastline and developed lowlands establish another band of information.
Beyond them, Olowalu Valley rises into a deeply folded system of ridges.
From ground level, those elements are difficult to experience simultaneously.
The aerial position reorganizes the place.
Reef becomes geometry. Changes in water depth become color. Coastline becomes a dividing line. The valley becomes a sequence of nested forms rather than one mountain wall.
Lance constructed the image to hold that breadth while retaining enough resolution for large physical presentation.
From across a room, Olowalu Vibes reads as one expansive West Maui landscape.
Walk closer and reef structures, shoreline features, trees, roads and smaller valley details begin emerging throughout the photograph.
That transition is the point: the larger the work becomes, the more opportunities it creates for discovery.
