We love to venture off the beaten path as well! Let's create something truly inspiring together.
Monochromatic Majesty was constructed from 12 separate exposures across Hole 5 of Kapalua's Plantation Course.
The panoramic construction lets Lance hold a field of view much wider than a conventional single frame while retaining substantially more information throughout it.
He then made another deliberate choice:
remove the color.
Without Kapalua's familiar green-and-blue palette dominating the image, fairway contours, shadows, cloud structure and the distant form of Molokaʻi become more important.
The photograph shifts from golf-course color toward shape, tone and spatial relationship.
At approximately 110 megapixels, the final panorama contains enough information to support significant enlargement.
The green and flag remain small within the total composition, but they do not disappear.
That tension between broad scale and very small resolved features is exactly what Lance wants large panoramic work to do: establish the entire environment from far away, then reward a collector who physically walks toward the print.
