Stu Soley
Stu photographs Maui through years of familiarity with its coast, weather, water, and changing light. We also value what surrounds the work: Stu and his family’s Soley Aloha supports more than 40 local vendors, making room for other Maui makers alongside their own creative practice.

Andrew Shoemaker
Andrew has built an extensive landscape, ocean, aerial, and nature photography practice from Maui, with particular strength in substantial architectural-scale presentation. We appreciate the seriousness with which he has built an independent artist-to-collector practice around the work.

Jim Freeheart
Jim’s painting practice stretches across decades and remains grounded in looking closely at Maui and painting what he encounters. We especially value the way his contribution extends beyond finished paintings into commissions, teaching, and sharing what he has learned with others.

Brad Huck
Brad builds mixed-media works through layers of paint, graphite, chalk, collage, and oil pastel, allowing earlier marks to remain part of the finished surface. His ongoing Maui practice offers a distinctly contemporary doorway into abstraction, material experimentation, and the landscape beyond literal representation.

Gwen Arkin
Gwen treats photography as a physical process, working with copperplate photogravure, silver gelatin, lumen, and other light-sensitive techniques. Her practice extends into teaching at the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College and work held in public and private collections.

Tim Garcia
Tim works in stone, wood, and metal with close attention to material, balance, and form. Just as important to us is the life around the work: years of teaching, public art, volunteer service, and sustained participation in Maui’s arts community.

Kim Mosley

Jordanne paints with thick, immediate brushwork, often working alla prima and allowing Maui’s landscapes and everyday scenes to become stories rather than polished descriptions. Her Makawao gallery keeps the artist, the work, and the encounter unusually close together.

Hui Noʻeau Visual Arts Center
Hui brings exhibitions, working studios, classes, visiting artists, and arts education together on the historic Kaluanui Estate. It is one of the places where Maui’s art community is not simply displayed—it is taught, practiced, tested, and continually renewed.

Schaefer International Gallery
Schaefer gives Maui a dedicated museum-quality exhibition space within the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. Its changing exhibitions create room for contemporary work, significant Hawaiʻi artists, and ideas that extend beyond the commercial gallery model.

Turnbull Studios & Sculpture Garden
Turnbull lets visitors encounter art across working studios, an indoor gallery, and a two-acre outdoor sculpture garden. We especially appreciate places where seeing finished work can still include some proximity to the people, materials, and process behind it.

Makai Glass
Makai makes the process visible. Visitors can move between finished glass work and the hot shop where molten material is being shaped, bringing the act of making into the experience of seeing the finished object.

Hāna Coast brings together painting, sculpture, fine craft, and other work in East Maui, with a long history of presenting artists connected to Hawaiʻi. It gives the island’s art story an important doorway well beyond the busier gallery corridors of South and Central Maui.

Art of Four Seasons Maui
Four Seasons Resort Maui has made visual art part of the guest experience through its permanent collection and daily Artist’s Showcase, where visitors can meet artists directly. Its continuing student mentorship work also creates a bridge between established Maui artists and the next generation.
